Candy Cane Nails

I’m super excited to share this tutorial with you! You will need Sinful Colors’ Merlot, Milani Nail Art: White Canvas, and Sally Hansen’s In The Spotlight. I also used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coatin between coats. If you only have a regular white and don’t feel like going out and buying a white with a fine detail brush you can use painter’s tape or masking tape to create the stripes instead by using the same effect as the price stickers in the For the Record Nails tutorial.

1. Start off with a coat of the red on top of clean nails.

2. Use the fine tip brush with the white nail polish to begin creating stripes.

The size of your nail will determine how many sets of stripes you’ll be able to make. For my design, I went with two small white stripes next to each other with a large space of red in between sets. I was able to fit 3 sets onto my nail. You are going to want to slowly rotate your nail as you’re moving the brush to achieve a more clean and effective look.

3. Finally, coat the stripes with the silver glitter polish.

I love the magical, Christmas look the sparkles add! It really ties together the entire manicure.

I love how my nails turned out and I’m so excited to be getting into the Christmas spirit! I hope you are finding ways to enjoy this time of year as well.
